The Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District was created to
develop, promote, and implement water conservation, augmentation
and management strategies to protect water resources for the benefit
of the citizens, economy and environment of Montgomery County,
Texas. To fulfill this directive, the Board of Directors adopted
rules on August 26, 2002, to regulate the drilling and operation
of water wells in Montgomery County and to set fees for the production
of groundwater.
