The 79th Texas Legislature adopted and the Governor signed HB 1763 which requires that joint planning be conducted by groundwater conservation districts within one of the “Groundwater Management Areas" (GMA) established by the Texas Water Development Board to determine “desired future conditions” (DFC) for use in establishing the “managed available groundwater” (MAG) for the aquifers across the state.

Montgomery County is located in GMA 14 which is located in South East Texas. There are six (6) groundwater conservation districts in GMA 14. These districts represent 13 of the 21 counties in GMA 14. Three other counties are represented by subsidence districts. Five counties are not represented by any type of district.

The meetings are held at the Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District Board Room, 207 W. Phillips Street, Suite 300, Conroe, Texas and are open to the public.
